Ex-United midfielder David Jones believes Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson, and the set up at United, had a huge influence on his career.

前曼联中场大卫.琼斯相信曼联老板弗格森爵士，并认为曼联岁月对他的职业生涯影响很大。

Jones, 22, signed for Derby County in January and has helped the Rams return to the Barclays Premier League, setting up a return to Old Trafford for the youngster on December 8.

22岁的琼斯今年1月与德比郡签约，并帮助球队升入超级联赛。他将在12月8号回到老特拉福德。

Jones told the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph: "It was definitely the right decision to join Manchester United when I was 10 because you learn so much.

琼斯告诉德比郡晚报：“我10岁的时候加入曼联绝对是正确的决定，因为我学到了很多。

"My education there was brilliant and I definitely wouldn't have changed it. You get the best coaching and the mentality of a massive club helps you perform. The standards set all through the age groups gives you a good grounding as a player and a person."

Jones also paid tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson. He said: "Alex Ferguson demands such high standards, how you conduct yourself both on and off the pitch. He rated me as a player but said to me he thought it would be the best thing for me if I were playing."

琼斯也赞扬了弗格森爵士，他说：“弗格森爵士的要求很高，在场上和场下都一样。他让我成为了一个球员。但是他觉得准会对我更好。”

The midfielder captained United's Youth Cup winning team in 2003 and latterly the Reserves, but with massive competition for places in the senior squad, felt it was time to move on, and chase regular first-team football.

"They (United) offered me a three-year contract last summer but I didn't sign it because I've seen a lot of players stay at Manchester United too long," he said. "I got to a stage where I needed to be playing every week."

Jones made 32 appearances and scored six goals, for Derby County, in the Championship last season, helping the Rams to secure promotion. He added: "I've been playing regular first-team football and now I have the chance to take my career on to new levels at Derby."
