Fergie To Stay For 10 More Years
Gary Neville believes Alex Ferguson will stay in charge at Manchester United for another decade. Ferguson celebrates 20 years in charge at Old Trafford on Monday. But United skipper Neville says people are wrong if they they think this milestone marks the beginning of the end for 64-year-old Fergie. Neville said: “It would not surprise me if he was to go on for five to 10 years. Why should he leave? He’s as determined as ever. It is a continual challenge to be at this club. I know that from being a player, I know that from being a fan. That will keep him young."

Bobby Robson has revealed how he once talked Alex Ferguson out of retirement. Fergie was ready to quit as Manchester United manager back in 2002. But he announced he would stay on following a chat with former England boss Robson. Robson said: “It’s four years or so since I last spoke to Alex about his future. I told him ‘You’ve built this dynasty at Old Trafford. Why give it up for somebody else? Keep it going.’ Alex is doing a great job and long may it continue.” Robson, 73, was one of 60 big football names who attended a lunch for Ferguson in Manchester yesterday to mark his 20th anniversary in the Old Trafford hot-seat.
